🔗 Share this article A Ton of Anime News Dropped Over the Holidays The Christmas holidays present a multitude of activities far superior than scanning the latest news: unwrapping gifts, indulging in festive fare, and harnessing meditation skills to refrain from yelling at relatives. It is wished you were able to accomplish all these things and more. That said, the entertainment world doesn't go on vacation, and this is notably true for the realm of anime. A slew of exciting developments surfaced over the break, and just in case you missed a few, here is a compilation of the most exciting bits. The One-Punch Man Series Season 3 Is Set to Continue (In 2027) Without a doubt the most shocking announcement, the widely-criticized disaster that was the third season of One-Punch Man failed to stop the series' continuation. Season 3 will come back with a subsequent part in 2027—such a distant date they easily could have dubbed it season 4. Even more shocking, the studio J.C. Staff will remain at the helm. At least this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is attached to direct from the outset, which might be a good sign. But, the key visual for the new episodes is the same image the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou facing different directions. This suggests that, by now, they must be mocking the fans. Ruri Dragon Will Be the First Shonen Jump Anime From Kyoto Animation Kyoto Animation has established a standing for being an elite animation studio, setting itself apart not just for the superb artistry of its work but for the ethical practices of its employees—a sadly unusual standard in the industry. Curiously, until now, it had never worked on an anime adapted from a manga published in Shonen Jump, arguably the most famous magazine in the field. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a superb choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo became widespread acclaim when it launched in 2022 after just a small number of issues, but then went into a extended pause due to the author's health issues. When it returned with a more relaxed pace, the series demonstrated it still retained the fans' appreciation and positive sentiment, and now the community is ecstatic about the forthcoming KyoAni adaptation. The Kingdom Series Its Sixth Season Will Get a Sequel Now in the Works Kingdom is the top-selling, long-running Shueisha manga that is other than One Piece. If you've are unfamiliar with it before, it's because it only recently got an English translation, but the anime has been running for some time, and its sixth season was yet another outstanding entry. It turns out that was just the initial batch, because a "sequel" has been announced as in development, and it will probably air in 2026. Science Saru Is Adapting A Witch in Mongolia To Anime One more studio famous for the artistic merit of its productions, Science Saru has delivered masterpieces of the quality of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, more recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be producing the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, inspired by the true story of Fatima, an influential woman and intellectual in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. From the trailer, the anime titled Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and captivating visual style, which is somewhat reminiscent of Ranking of Kings. Set to premiere in July 2026, this one will absolutely be on my must-watch list. The Tougen Anki Series Will Continue With a Second Season Right after the release of episode 24, it was revealed that Tougen Anki will be receiving a second season. Adapted from the Japanese legend of Momotaro, Tougen Anki is based on the manga by Yura Urushibara. The upcoming season of the anime will delve into the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, but a specific air date has not been disclosed yet.
