Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
